Reading an annual return

Form 990-PF is an annual return used by private foundations. Depending on the filing, it reports financial activity, assets, officers, and charitable distributions for the stated tax year. Read the original PDF for the actual reported details rather than treating a website summary as a replacement.

A tax year is not necessarily the date a return was filed. Historical distributions do not predict a future award, and figures from different returns should not be combined without checking the reporting periods and definitions.

For a missing year, an inaccessible PDF, a question about a filing, or a correction request, contact ACF and identify the tax year and document you need. No audited report, grant-outcome report, or confirmed founding timeline has been supplied for publication here.
