About the Foundation

A Romanian cultural non-profit, registered in 1995, working with young people through theatre.

History & heritage

  1. 1995

    The Foundation is registered in Bucharest under NRN 984/B/1995 by actors, teachers and parents of the Youth Theatre circle. First workshop: twelve teenagers, one borrowed hall.

  2. 1999

    First full community season staged in Bucharest; the Foundation begins archiving scripts and photographs of amateur youth productions.

  3. 2004

    Permanent rehearsal base opened in Sibiu on Strada Berăriei, allowing year-round free workshops in Transylvania.

  4. 2007

    Launch of the Annual Youth Drama Festival, hosting companies from across Romania and Moldova.

  5. 2013

    Drama therapy programme begins with schools and placement centres serving vulnerable children.

  6. 2018

    Independent Playwright Incubator founded; first eight commissioned texts published in a bilingual anthology.

  7. 2025

    Thirtieth anniversary season: over 6,400 young people have passed through the Foundation's rooms.
