We are the Springfield Metro Center neighborhood association - from the Riverfront (west) to STCC (east), from 291 (north) to Stockbridge Court (south). We've been around since 1995 and have been instrumental in improving our neighborhood.
- AQCA regularly meets with downtown business owners (current and potential) to discuss neighborhood concerns
- AQCA holds forums for local election candidates
- AQCA organizes neighborhood cleanups
- Hosts historic walking tours and home tours
- Hosts summer concerts in neighborhood parks
We are residents intent on realizing our community’s potential. AQCA is one of 21 neighborhood councils officially tasked and supported by the city to advocate on behalf of citizens.
Please join us by contributing your ideas and dreams, skills and talents, time and energy to the cause: Come to our monthly meetings, join our committees, and help do the work that needs to be done.
** Where restaurants, cafes, and local businesses have replaced vacant storefronts and abandoned buildings.
** Where there is land for recreation and gardening instead of empty lots.
** Where trash ends up where it belongs and not on sidewalks.
** Where there are quality, affordable housing and no homes in disrepair.
** Where residents feel safe and free of crime, vagrancy, speeding traffic, and ramped-up noise.
** Where there are dependable city and social services, and streets
that are plowed whenever it snows.
** Where there are life-enriching, community-based events and opportunities.
